I have lifted weights and participated in bodybuilding for over 40 years, starting at 13 years of age. I have won numerous physique titles, and (as of February 2013) have trained and assisted over 5,000 people achieve their personal fitness goals.
The most important element of any exercise program is to do it in such a way that minimises the risk of injury. I really do know about avoidance of injuries; I have survived over 30 years of training, and continue to lift weights.
I have not only avoided performance enhancing drugs (eg., steroids), but have also spoken out against them. And yet I am capable of putting on lean body mass even at my not-so-young age. I must know a little something about weight training and muscle gain then, huh? Everything I do in this gym is aimed at proper training to this end.
If you don’t require my advice, I will not force it down your throat. But if you want to save time and frustration, I may be able to help you.
